We are Atiya, Luna, Andrra, Aarshika, Aishwarya, Naomi, Paula, Abhi, and Andrei - a team of young change makers studying in Bremen, Germany. Menstrual Mission was founded to not only create conversation at Jacobs University, but also see how we can continue to create and facilitate conversation in a developed country such as Germany. Menstruation is more than just a scientific fact, and it is more than just a week of bleeding. There are numerous topics surrounding menstruation and we aim to unpack these topics.
What we are working on:
We aim to hold workshops in communities around Bremen. Our goal is to facilitate conversation and provide resources to those who may face language barriers in Germany and may not have access to sexual education. The team has been gathering research and we will transfer this into workshops and resources that can be accessed via our website. We will also be collaborating with other groups to create educational videos and campaigns. Our latest project includes 3D printing menstrual cups! We are currently at the prototyping phase, and placed 5th in the Vegesack Innovation Competition while receiving the Sparkasse Special Award. The prize money will be used to fund the research and development phase of this project.
